“Fear God”—To fear Him we must know Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
“Keep His commandments”—We keep His commandments through prayer, Christian disciplines,
accountability, and sound biblical applications.
Perform “our duty”—Serve Him.
Our five-fold purpose is accomplished by the following ministries:
Accountability Program
The objective of this year-round program is to provide shared accountability for strengthening the Christian life. The purpose of the Men’s Accountability Program is to provide a practical way for men to grow in their Christian walk. Through the fellowship of other Christian men and a commitment to each other before the Lord, you can make a difference by being a more consistent and effective leader in your home, church, and work. The goal is to have every active HBC man in an accountability group.
Elective Programs
This program has been set up to provide in-depth teaching of practical biblical subjects related to men. It is a time for men to relate with other men on the issues that they face as men. Electives are offered during the fall, winter, and summer Life Training Electives which meet on Wednesday night from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the church.
Thursday Morning Prayer Meeting
This meeting begins at 6:30 a.m. every Thursday in the chapel. The meetings are held on holidays as well.
Men's Fellowship Breakfast
The Fellowship Breakfast provides a forum for men to share issues in their lives, and listen to, in an informal setting, testimonies and practical topics pertinent to the male Christian life. The purpose is edification, fellowship, and low-key evangelism. The breakfasts are held in the International Plaza on the second Saturday, October through May (except December), from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Special Events
The Men’s Conference, HBC Golf Tournament, and Day of Activities are some of the special events held for the men of Heritage Baptist Church. These provide a time of fellowship for HBC men, as well as times of outreach and low-key evangelism to reach friends, neighbors, and co-workers with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Men's Conference is held every other year.
