 Life Training Electives

As our vision statement clearly states, “We exist as a scriptural community, seeking to make disciples of Jesus Christ …” Life Training Electives are one avenue that assists us in accomplishing this mission in three different ways:

1. We offer a variety of classes for adults that are related to spiritual growth, Bible knowledge and application, life issues, and ministry preparation. Each class is designed to better equip you for life and ministry.

2. Our Men’s and Women’s Ministries offer gender groups /classes which focus upon related issues of men and women.

3. Several classes are offered through specific Discipleship Communities designed to provide a deeper level of relationships designed to move people in discipleship.

List of 2019 Fall Electives, B Term (October 23 – December 18)

Job’s Suffering and God’s Sovereignty

Dr. Chris Gnanakan — Egypt, M234
Have you struggled with the fact that a good and powerful God seems to cause or permit evil and suffering to happen to his own people?! Theodicy is a difficult doctrine that seeks to reconcile God’s justice with the power of his love! Come and join us as Dr. Chris Gnanakan helps unpack Biblical truths that show us how in spite of, and through it all, “God is too good to be unkind and too wise to make mistakes in our lives!”

Through God’s Eyes

Bill C. — Japan (M112)
Through God’s Eyes by Patrick Cate is an invaluable study for those seeking to investigate God’s passion for His world. This study is designed to bring us into the Word personally, help us discover inductively what God is saying, and gain a better sense of His direction for our lives.

Sharing a Jewish Gospel

BJ Kerstetter — Libya (M238)
Have you ever read the Bible and thought, “is this even in English?” Many times we misunderstand or gloss over vast portions of Scripture because we lack a proper understanding of the original language and culture. Join BJ Kerstetter, a missionary to the Jewish people, to discover the Jewish foundations of the Christian faith. Learn about Jewish customs and holidays to gain a better understanding of Scripture and how to effectively share the Gospel with your Jewish friends.

Women’s Elective – Philippians: Partnering To Be a Blessing

Anna Group — Korea (M114)
Join us as we continue our study of the book of Philippians and mine the treasures of what unity in the Gospel of Christ looks like. Study guide will be available for purchase for $5. We will be picking up where we left off in the A-term and continue meeting through December 18.

Men’s Elective – 33 Series: A Man And His Design

Mike Cook — Morocco (M244)
This first volume of 33 starts with meaningful insights into the current state of manhood, which will help men navigate through some realities that have created cultural confusion. It follows by unfolding God’s mandates for all men and offering a clear definition of authentic manhood that will help men on their journey. Each participant will learn the four “faces” of manhood and how to anticipate and transition through the specific seasons of life.
