 Life Training Electives

As our vision statement clearly states, “We exist as a scriptural community, seeking to make disciples of Jesus Christ …” Life Training Electives are one avenue that assists us in accomplishing this mission in three different ways:

1. We offer a variety of classes for adults that are related to spiritual growth, Bible knowledge and application, life issues, and ministry preparation. Each class is designed to better equip you for life and ministry.

2. Our Men’s and Women’s Ministries offer gender groups /classes which focus upon related issues of men and women.

3. Several classes are offered through specific Discipleship Communities designed to provide a deeper level of relationships designed to move people in discipleship.

Job’s Suffering and God’s Sovereignty

Dr. Gnanakan — Egypt, M234
Have you struggled with the fact that a good and powerful God seems to cause or permit evil and suffering to happen to his own people?! Theodicy is a difficult doctrine that seeks to reconcile God’s justice with the power of his love! Come and join us as Dr. Chris Gnanakan helps unpack Biblical truths that show us how in spite of, and through it all, “God is too good to be unkind and too wise to make mistakes in our lives!”

Revealing the Mysteries of Heaven

David Jamerson — Morocco, M244
What happens when we die? Where do we go? Is there an afterlife? Does the Bible say anything specific about heaven? Are there streets of gold there? By studying the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation and working through a variety of topics, the curtain is pulled back—to the extent Scripture allows—to reveal the glorious and utterly amazing realm of heaven. Join us as we journey through David Jeremiah’s video series on Revealing the Mysteries of Heaven!

Biblical Worship: Theology Unto the Glory of God

Ben Forrest — Morrocco, M244
Worship has always been a discipline and practice of the church, but so often worship is driven by cultural context rather than biblical exegesis. While culture invaluably shapes expressions of worship, Scripture should guide our theology and ultimately our practice of worship. Thus, the intent of the class is to examine Scripture canonically and sequentially to examine each portion of Scripture for its significance for biblical worship. The goal here is not stylistic preferences, but upon what the Scriptural authors teach us regarding a proper perspective and posture for worship.

A Beautiful Design

Pastor Nathan, Pastor Jeff, Pastor Kent — Korea, M114

In this 9-session study through Matt Chandler’s book, A Beautiful Design, discover how you were created with a purpose in God’s unchanging plan, exchange your broken and weary perspective on life for His beautiful design, and understand the cleansing power of the gospel, erasing all past, present and future failures.
