March 16, 2020

It was so good to be able to gather with the body yesterday both online and in person. We are so thankful to Dr. Michael Smith for his timely message from Psalm 77. If you have not already viewed this service, it is available online and would be a great blessing to you during these uncertain and confusing times.

Due to new guidance put out by the Governor and the CDC, the leadership of Heritage Baptist Church has decided to cancel all church services, programming and ministry events through Sunday, March 22nd. There will be an online service at 10:00 am on Sunday, March 22nd.

Please continue to check this page for the most up to date information concerning our services, programming and ministry events. For any questions or needed clarifications please contact the church office at 434-237-6505 or mail@hbclynchburg.com.

Please know that our church leaders are continuing to pray for you. We take great comfort that our God is in control and our security rests solely in Him. May we all be looking for opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who find their hope in the things of this world rather than in Christ.

March 14, 2020

First let me say thank you for your prayers for Pastor Nathan and his family while ministering in Northern Ireland. There have been some challenges with the COVID19 fears, but there also have been blessings. After talking with the Lynchburg Health Department and in conjunction with the Governor “urging localities and non-profits to limit large public events, effective immediately”, the leadership of Heritage Baptist Church has decided to adjust our normally scheduled Sunday programming for March 15th.

We will hold one service on campus at 9:30 am but ask that:

  1. Everyone limits physical contact by refraining from shaking hands or touching in anyway.
  2. Anyone who has had a fever or cough should stay home until fever-free for at least 24 hours.
  3. Anyone who fits the VA Department of health criteria for especially vulnerable population should consider remaining home. This includes elderly people who have serious chronic medical conditions, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Lung Disease or weakened immune systems.

All services will be available online.

  1. The 9:30 and 11:00 service will be streamed and can be viewed online.
  2. Nursery, kids Sunday School, youth group and adult Discipleship Communities will not meet on March 15th.

Jesus still commands the elements and holds all things together. He is our Rock, our Fortress, our Deliverer, our Refuge, our Shield, our Stronghold, and the Horn of our Strength (Psalm 18). May we hide ourselves in Him. Thank you for your prayers for all those who are directly or indirectly being affected by this situation.
